Created by the UK's premiere experimental music festival, Supersonic Kids Gigs are designed for families as a way of introducing children to experimental music – BIG sounds for little people!

Supersonic Kids Gigs take children under 10 & families on an extraordinary musical journey. We create enveloping & multi-sensory experiences that inspire young audiences with a riot of sound.

Shovel Dance Collective are a group of nine musicians brought together by a communal passion for the folk music of the British Isles, Ireland and beyond. Simultaneously traditional and experimental, for this year's festival special Kids Gig, the collective will present folk music as a living communal activity, inviting families to sing and stomp-a-long and get fully immersed in their storytelling, joyful tunes and calming lullabies. The group favours instruments that conjure a deeper and stranger antiquity; hammered dulcimer, bowed cittern, mountain banjo, pump organ.

This Kids Gig will be hosted by everyone's favourite alt-rocker and pyscho-storyteller, Anna Palmer from Dorcha.
