JOIN IN WITH MERRY MAKERS AND CAROL SINGERS AS BLACK COUNTRY LIVING MUSEUM HOST A WHOLE SEASON OF FESTIVE EVENTS TO SUIT ALL THE FAMILY
Merry Makers - Sat 3, Sun 4 Dec
10am – 5pm daily
This year, Santa’s nice list is longer than ever before – so much so, he’s run out of room for presents in his workshop! To help save the day, Black Country Living Museum has offered to let the Elves take over – where better to find festive inspiration than the historic home of innovation, industry and making things?
Explore shops, houses and workshops as our historic characters welcome in the yuletide workforce. Meet Christmassy characters and learn what Elves, Toy Soldiers and even Sugar Plum Fairies do to help the world get ready for the most magical time of year. But watch out! Even festive factories have pests! The sneaky rats are out and about, stealing presents and foiling the elves’ plans! Can you keep their wily whiskers away, help the elves make enough presents and get ready for the Black Country’s best Christmas yet? Find out this December at our Merry Makers events!
Glad Tidings - Fri 9, Sat 10, Fri 16, Sat 17, Sun 18 Dec
6:30pm – 10pm
It’s the time of year to bring the family together for a cosy evening at Black Country Living Museum. Gather around our hearths, braziers and fires and enjoy the merry atmosphere as you take in carols and Christmas stories.
Explore our historic village as you discover Christmas through time, from the origins of a traditional Victorian Christmas to the vintage crooners and TV specials of the 1950s and 60s. Hear carols around every corner as choirs and bands perform a host of jolly tunes, and get a flavour of a Caribbean Christmas as our steel pan band brings classic winter songs to life.
Bring a bit of the Museum home with you by creating some truly traditional Christmas decorations and have a browse for some unique presents for friends and family.
Plus, enjoy a taste of all your Museum foodie favourites! Enjoy a festive fizz as you pop to the Elephant and Castle for a Babycham, warm your cockles with a tasty portion of fish and chips or grab a bag of sweeties for the kids (or the young at heart!) at T.Cooks Sweet Shop.
Santa Hunts - Various dates and timeslots available (However, we do now have limited availability left)
Sat 26 Nov – Sat 24 Dec
“Of course, I can’t wait to meet you, but this year, I thought it was best… to make things a little more tricky, and invite you off on a quest!” – Santa Claus
Santa Hunts are making a welcome return with a brand new storyline for 2022. This year, Santa has decided to have a little festive fun and has hidden somewhere in our canalside village – the elves need your help to solve the clues and find him!
Climb aboard our vintage bus to explore the village and seek out Santa Claus. Join in the yuletide spirit, take part in our festive tasks and help our jolly historic characters prepare for Christmas. Don’t forget to pop into our Edwardian school to write up your special secret wish too, all before meeting the big man himself!
Be ready for our Christmas VIP as Santa will ensure to meet each child individually for a chat and of course, they will receive a Christmas gift. Santa isn’t camera shy, so you are welcome to take a photo or ask our helpful elves to take one for you.
Plus, in true Christmas spirit we haven’t forgotten about the grown-ups, who will receive a voucher for a complimentary mulled wine or non-alcoholic drink and a mince pie.
Although we recognise that Christmas is a magical time for those of all ages, we recommend this event to those aged 3+.
Please note that tickets for Santa Hunts can only be booked via telephone with our Sales and Ticketing team on 0121 520 8054 (Lines open 10am-4pm, Mon-Fri).
