The Olympic Flame in the West Midlands
Birmingham and the West Midlands welcome the Olympic Flame with spectacular performances showcasing the region's local talents, culture
and heritage.
As part of its journey around the UK, the Olympic Flame will be carried through the West Midlands, witnessed by thousands of people, in the final run up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The route of the Olympic Torch in the West Midlands:
- Worcester on 24 May 2012
- Stoke-on-Trent on 30 May 2012
- Birmingham on 30 June 2012
- Coventry on 1 July 2012.
Events:
The West Midlands locations represent 4 of 66 Evening Celebration locations across the UK, each event will offer thousands of people the opportunity to come together and get involved in celebrations and share in the Olympic spirit, showcasing local talent, culture and heritage.
A cauldron will be lit from the Olympic Flame and mark the end of the day’s proceedings.
