Heritage Open Days
Heritage Open Days take place 8 - 11 September and are England's
annual celebration of local history, architecture and culture.
Every year buildings of all ages, styles and function throw open their doors, offering
visitors the unique opportunity to access properties that are normally
closed to the public or usually charge admission. At Birmingham's heritage sites there are a wide range of activities,
tours and events which bring the city's history and culture to life.

Free of charge, and literally on people's doorsteps, it's your once-a-year chance to uncover and discover hidden treasures. From lidos to lighthouses, archives to tunnels, parish churches to
Buddhist temples, castles to
factories, dance classes to crafts workshops, treasure hunts to
woodlands walks.
Heritage Open Days also includes events and activities that focus on local architecture and culture.

This year over 40,000 volunteers and local people will give up their time to welcome an anticipated one million visits; making Heritage Open Days England’s most popular cultural grassroots event.
