Food Producers

Birmingham’s food reputation grows all-round. From its booming restaurant scene to lauded food producers. Cadbury’s Dairy Milk, Lashford’s award-winning sausages and Cleone Foods’ Island Delight Patties are just the tip of the iceberg. Birmingham makes some the UK’s favourite foods.

Cadbury is the king of chocolate. Close to the heart (and taste buds) of the whole nation. The Birmingham brand has been synonymous with ‘choccy’ since 1824 when John Cadbury first opened his shop. Today, the flourishing dynasty feeds the world with so many favoured chocolate sensations. Good old Dairy Milk or Bournville plain are joined by an endless array of fav treats; like cracking Cream Eggs, fabulous Flake or champion Crunchie. There’s even everyone’s favourite bedtime delight - Cadbury’s Hot Chocolate.

A.W.Lashford & Son are famed for their champion sizzlers. Their award-winning sausages (so far 125 prizes at home and abroad) are enjoyed right across the land (including the royal family). They produce 25 varieties, including traditional Cumberland, the Royal, beef and mustard, venison and centurion. There’s even a balti sausage - well, us Brummies must stick together.

Island Delight Patties
bring the taste of the Caribbean to the UK. Made in Birmingham by Cleone Foods since 1988, over 100,000 are produced each week. Created by Jamaican-born company founder, Wade Lyn, these authentic patties feature a golden pastry crust holding a range of fresh scrummy fillings and all-important Caribbean spices. Particularly in the big supermarkets, this tasty Caribbean cuisine is extremely popular - with Island Delight eating up 55% of the pattie market.
