Cookery Courses
The next Michelin-starred restaurant to open in Birmingham could be yours - at least, it could if our cookery courses have their way. Leading the culinary revolution are our unique Balti Breaks - where secrets of Birmingham’s famous Balti Triangle become your own.
These are just some of the local cookery lessons open to the next generation of Jamies and Nigellas.
Spice up your kitchen with the secrets of Birmingham’s unique Balti Triangle; home to the delicious Pakistani Kashmiri cuisine. On a Balti Break, you’ll cook up authentic balti delights as well as sampling sumptuous tastes and flavours of the area. Detailed demonstrations, more tastings and a guided tour are just part of the experience; which is finished off in style with three-courses at one the Triangle’s finest restaurants. (Did we mention the all the tastings?)
Cookery schools at cutting-edge restaurants - like Bank or Simpsons - allow you to see the masters at work. Fun and informal courses take budding chefs behind the scenes. For example, at Simpsons, as well taking in detailed demonstrations (occasionally hosted by the Chef de Cuisine) the Sommelier’s conducts tours of the cellar. Then, hard work over, finish off with the delight of a three-course lunch.
Or at Bank Birmingham, learn to perfect the Sunday roast. Master alfresco cooking. And go further with fish or desserts. All with their many wonderful courses. Maybe it’s time you learned how to recreate a brilliant Bellini, a captivating Cosmopolitan or a mouth-watering Mojito? Bank Birmingham also has the Cocktail School where mere mortals can master the mixers art.
If you’ve an appetite for football as well as food, then turn 90 minutes of action into 48 hours of fun with an Aston Villa Premiership Weekend Break - kick off with a pre-match stadium tour and three-course silver service meal - they’re all part of the action.
