British Glass Biennale, 24 August - 15 September

A major exhibition of contemporary glass will come to Stourbridge, showcasing outstanding glass works from British glass artists. Free entry.


The British Glass Biennale is the foremost exhibition of excellence in contemporary glass by artists, designers and craftspeople currently working in Britain. Thsi biannual event is the highlight of the International Festival of Glass and with its growing international status, attracts top collectors and enthusiasts from around the world. The 2012 exhibition will showcase at least 80 major new glass works, from intricately engraved vessels to large scale glass chandeliers.

 

Glass biennal

Held at the Ruskin Glass Centre - formerly the Royal Doulton and Webb Corbett glass factory - 2012 sees the final stages of the re-development of this historical site into an exciting venue of studios and exhibitions. Set to be a key factor in keeping Stourbridge thriving as the heart of glassmaking, the British Glass Biennale will be the inaugural exhibition in the Centre’s new dynamic exhibition space.
