Essence of Jazz

Aloft Birmingham Eastside, 2 Woodcock Street, Birmingham, West Midlands, B7 4BL
Essense of Jazz (2)

About

Welcome to Essence of Jazz (take two). In this exhibition, Rachel has gone back to her first ever wire creations that she designed and build back in 2003 when at university on an exchange programme in America. At Central Connecticut State University, she created a jazz band with 3 musicians called "Essence of Jazz".

After 21 years of honing her skills, learning about the structure and welding and plasma cutting. Rachel has recreated the Essence of Jazz but added in a singer to create a unique sculpture installation where the jazz band looks like they are in full swing. A huge step up from the originals, these pieces really show Rachel's passion for sculpture art and using industrial materials to create organic forms. Also on display are individual instruments as wall art. All are available to buy!

Join us on 9th May for a night of celebration as we launch this unique exhibition that will be displayed at Aloft Birmingham Eastside for 3 months from May - August 2024!
